Mission Statement

Who We Are

Quite simply we are a church that seeks to follow the pattern of the church in the New Testament that has been revealed by God’s holy word.

We believe that patterns have been established that show what God expects from us in worship to Him.  Our primary concern is with the spiritual needs of men and women – their need for God, for forgiveness of sins, for genuine God-pleasing worship, for pure lives lived in accordance with God’s word.

We believe the church is simply people saved from their sins by God and added to His church (Acts 2:47).  We also believe that Christians are living stones built by God to be His spiritual house (1 Peter 2:4-5).  With that in mind, we believe the church is not an earthly building built by man.

We believe that the church is completely independent from other churches or religious organizations.  As the Bible pattern clearly shows there is no authority for any organization or religious hierarchy aside from a local body of Christians, we are not a part of any association of churches or any denomination.  We are Christians (Acts 11:26) disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:24).

This group of believers belong to Christ; and we strive to be the church of Christ revealed in the Bible (Romans 16:16).

Our Beliefs

GOD:  We believe God is the creator and sovereign ruler of the universe and all that is in it (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Romans 1:20).

He eternally exists in three distinct beings:  The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three co-exist as the one and only God (and existed this way even before the beginning) (Psalm 90:2; John 1:1-2; Colossians 1:15-20).

JESUS CHRIST:  We believe that Jesus is the Messiah that was spoken of by the prophets of the Old Testament (Acts 2:22-36; Matthew 1:21-22).

We believe that Jesus is the son of God and that He was willing to temporarily give up His position in Heaven to be born of a woman and take on flesh to become son of man to save us from our sins.  We believe He lived a sinless life on this earth even though He was tempted in every way and willingly offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for all men and women by dying on a cross for our sins (Hebrews 4:14-15; Galatians 1:3-4).

We believe that on the third day He was raised from the dead and ascended back to Heaven with his promise to return and that God gave Him all authority to judge mankind in the end of time (Acts 1:9-11; John 5:25-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

THE BIBLE:  We believe the Bible is God’s holy word which was spoken and written by individuals who were inspired by God from the book of Genesis to Revelation.  The writers understood and insisted that the words they penned were accurate and factual, and should be accepted, not based on a lack of evidence or a “shot in the dark” but on abundant and verifiable proof (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 7:21; 2 John 9).

IN SALVATION:  We believe that salvation from sin and spiritual death is offered by God through His sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His grace (Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 2:11; Romans 3:20-26). Salvation is a free gift and cannot be achieved through good works or self-improvement on our part, it is truly a gift from God.  All people have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, but all people can be saved (Romans 3:23; Acts 2:39).

SALVATION – HOW DO WE RECEIVE IT:  We believe that to receive salvation is a 6-phase process with the following parts:

1. One must hear God’s word (Acts 2:36-37; Romans 10:17)

2. One must believe that Christ has the power to save (Acts 16:30-33)

3. You must confess Jesus is the Son of God and was raised from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10).

4. You must repent of you sins. (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19).

5. You must be baptized into Christ by immersion in water, participating in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-4) to receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:26-29; Titus 3:3-7; 1 Peter 3:21).

6. One must continue to remain faithful and walk in Jesus’ light and have fellowship with other Christians so that the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse us from our sins (1 John 1:7).

Finally, we believe as a disciple of Christ that our faith will be manifested in obedience to God’s will.  (Romans 14:7-8; James 2: 14-20; Romans 6:16-18; Matthew 7:21; 2 Peter 3:11-13).

What to expect when you come and worship with us –

  • We, as a congregation, use our voices only as a form of worship to God and speak to one another in songs (Ephesians 5:19). Singing is an expression of praise in which every Christian in the assembly has the opportunity to participate. Because the human voice is the greatest instrument given by God and only one authorized in the New Testament, you will notice there will not be any other musical instruments utilized in our song services.

  • We pray to our heavenly Father every time we are together as saints (Acts 2:42). We pray for God’s guidance, pray for the physical and spiritual needs of the congregation and pray that His will and work will be accomplished through the church, which is His body (Colossians 1:18).

  • We observe every first day of the week as instructed by our Lord the communion or the Lord’s supper (Acts 20:7). This is a special time for saints to focus on the death, burial and most importantly the resurrection of Jesus that made God’s plan for salvation complete.  This involves eating the bread and drinking the fruit of the vine which represents the body and blood of Jesus.  It is also a symbol of our unity as the body of Christ, the church (Matthew: 26: 26-28).

  • We give a voluntary offering to the Lord each Sunday (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). As a guest you are not expected to give but it is expected of members as they can (1 Timothy 6:17-19).

  • We hear a lesson from God’s word which is found in the Bible (2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 20:7; 2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible and only the Bible is the foundation of our lives.  The sermons are taken directly from the scriptures with a focus on a practical application in our daily life.

We strive to worship our God in spirit and in truth.  Our aim is to honor God, remember all that our Lord has done for mankind, to edify each other and to encourage each other to live more Godly lives.  We welcome you to join us as we continue on our journey to our heavenly home.
